I met a mystic at a food court…
Today I met a mystic at a food court. Virendra Qazi. He contacted me after reading some of my writing on the internet (http://www.ryze.com/go/lisabarr ).
He teaches Kashmir Shaivism, a sort of PH D level beyond-religion mysticism. I met up with him after countless phone discussions at the DT mega mall vintage car show–all kinds of cars from the 20s and 50s lined up outside. I walked in the entrance (they call entrances “gates” here). Took an escalator, then another, then another. Third floor. I walk in and call on the cell phone, but I spot him right away, sitting at a table with his wife. Our spirits catch each other’s attention.

Hello India! ( bylisabarr)

I sit there in a semi-weak state with a cup of Barista in hand. I’m still having a difficult time with food consumption–everything seems to be going right through me–out the bottom end. They are both hospitable. Offering me lunch. I politely decline. I tell them I am only eating plain rice right now. His wife goes and gets me a tray of vegi dishes and a some plain rice, a chapatti. A fountain drink. I eat a little. We talk. Suddenly it was potty time. I rush to the toilet and come back out, sit down and talk some more. I decline ice cream. We get ready to go and my mobile phone is nowhere to be found. I panic.

Virendra gets out his cell and dials my number. He says very point-blank: “Go to the bathroom.” I go. I look in the stall where I had sat. Nothing on the floor. I go back out and rummage through my bag. Virendra says, “Go back to the bathroom.”

I tell him, “No. I’ve already been in there. My phone is not there.”
He’s dialing my number again and says to his wife, “She’s not listening to me, will you assist her back into the bathroom?”

Finally I get the hint, go back in there, and the cleaning lady is in there and I ask her if she has seen a phone. She opens a rag and there is my orange mobile, vibrating away. I walk out with lesson learned. Trust this man’s guidance. I can let go of that super-rebel girl I-don’t-want-to-listen-to-you spirit that grew from my father always telling me what to do. I am among friends now. I can open myself up to be guided in even more refined ways.

I let my driver go and went with Qazi and his wife with their driver to their South Delhi home. The neighborhood had lots of trees and a park. It was a three bedroom flat up two flights of stairs and was marked by a red sandstone colored door and chiseled stone reading “Virendra Qazi.”
We were greeted by a short servant boy who doesn’t’ know his own age. Virdendra’s wife guesses 15. The living room is cool with books and paintings and red and blue couches. A big long room with high ceilings. I sit and feel that it is a restful home. We have Kashmir tea with floating nuts and a green cardamom seed, sweet and flavorful. Crackers and sweets. I meet his journalist friend who lives in NYC. We all talk. I get a tour of the house and am offered to step into a prayer room. I take off my shoes and bashfully walk in. Virendra tells me that many mystics have been in this small prayer room. There are photographs of gurus, of Krishna, green. I bath in a cool silence, and the energy is deeply calm. So calm in fact, it makes me nervous. I can feel no words here. Just teachings. The stillness of being. Doesn’t the clothing that my spirit wears feel unrest in contrast to the energy in this room? I feel like I am walking through a dream.

The bedrooms and guestroom all have vintage-like pictures in them–relatives. His 24-year-old daughter is napping. His mother sits in the kitchen. His sister goes shopping. Their son who plays guitar is away at school. I have another cup of tea. We all gather to talk some more. Plans for conferences in the US.Amazing international glamour PR future. So kindred this spirit from this man who is a guru to many, but who does not wish to be put on any pedestal. He takes no credit for the profound wisdom that radiates from him. He tells me, “100 percent divine.”

We take his friend to the train station and walk to the track to bid farewell. A beggar sits at our feet. A little tiny man in an orange shirt. Qazi gives him a few coins. I dig in my bag and give him a few crackers. He takes them and puts them near his head as though blessing them before eating. The beggar sits a little bit away and eats. He then watches me and smiles. I smile with my eyes. My energy is changing and I can see my true self. The plans that we have are brilliant. A total synergy of east saying hello west. Hello business world. It’s time to be reformed into warm and respectful ethics, touching one CEO at a time.

Acceptance. Accepting who you are right where you are. Accepting all our “flaws,” all our character, and everybody else’s. He also believes that everything is divine. There’s nothing that escapes this idea. Even the things that we judge or deem as “bad.” It’s all divine. Everything.

What is happening here in India is beautiful. So I bring myself to tears bathing in new realities, learning more about the connection of everything and my own potential and gifts I have brought into this world. There’s going to be a lot of inspiring going down, big time and soon!!! MTV and HBO style! Bringing light into corporation. Bliss into the entertainment industry. These subtle and strong vibrations. I am speechless as to how this is happening. It’s soooooooooooo beyond words! Wow

It was really great meeting with Virendra Qazi guruji…He is a great teacher of Kashmir shaivism tradition..learnt about the ancient techniques of Agama Scriptures which is directly came from lord Shiva. #vigyanbhairavtantra#shivasuktam#shaivism#supreme sacred techniques#yogilife#feeling superb
